Chinese Ink
Anyone know the correct way to dissolve Chinese ink chips?
Such as amount of water, how long it takes to dissolve, water temperature, etc??
These are the small color ink chips, not an ink stick.
Are you talking about the blocks of ink used for traditional Chinese painting? For those, I usually dip the stick of ink in water and rub it around in circles on the inkstone. Remember not to press too hard and don’t use too much water at once. It doesn’t take long for the stick to melt in cool tap water.
