Expressionist Drawing
How can I seal a pastel drawing on glass?
I drew a sketch on a glass mirror with Cray-Pas EXPRESSIONIST extra fine quality oil pastels. I can easily wipe it off the mirror, but I don’t want to. Is there any way I could seal this, so the image wouldn’t rub off?
(I cant really frame it because its on a framed mirror already.)
Cheapo way: Hairspray will fix it to the mirror without distorting it (like brushing it with something would.) If you scratch it with your fingernail it will flake off.
Nice way: Go to the craft store and get the clear epoxy resin mix that you can cast with. Mix it up and pour the mixture over the mirror up to the frame. Tap it gently to dislodge air bubbles. You could even embed something like a photo or flower petals and get a 3d effect.
