How do I install a new flint on an old, antique lighter?
I have an old 1930s lighter that has a new wick, wadding, and fuel, but needs a flint. The wheel works fine, but i can’t think of where to install a flint. It resembles this: http://www.photochart.com/data/media/17/Old_lighter.jpg

The housing that holds the flint can be completely removed…just pull up on it and the whole ensemble will pull out. then unscrew the bottom, and you’ll probably have a spring with the screw attached to it come pulling out. Put the new flint into the tube, and replace the spring with the screw. Screw it back in and the flint will remain in place and have pressure against the wheel.
