how has he used shape
how has he used colour
how has he used texture
how has he used tone
ya know, when I was in art school.. I paid a lot of attention to the teacher and how they analyzed a painting. It’s very subjective….
Line.. in some areas of the painting.. it is like a japanese painting.. very defined.. in other areas. the line quality is more subtle.
I think his use of shape is conducive to the line quality.. goes from definition to vague.
color.. same thing.. from very defined.. ie.. orange, orange red to the green.. then jumps out with the purple and some B & W areas.
texture- limited.. some small areas have texture.. often uses flat areas.
tone is subtle.
