can i wear antique jewelry without hurting it?
for christmas, my mom got me a gorgeous ring from the 15th century. its made out of bronze and glass (i think) can i wear it occasionally? or will that harm something which is so old?
Wow, you are so lucky to have got such a wonderful piece of jewellery from the past!
Providing the setting is sound, there is no reason not to wear it occasionally.
Have a close look (preferably with a magnifying glass) and make sure that the claws or band holding the stone in come sufficiently high enough around the stone that it is not going to come loose and perhaps get lost. If you are unsure, take it to your nearest manufacturing jeweller (one that actually has a workshop on the premises) and ask the bench jeweller to check it for you.
