Cheap way to frame large posters?
I have a number of very large (and cheap) posters on my wall, and would love to find a way to frame them cheaply. I live in NYC but can’t find anything affordable. Another idea was to find a way to somehow attach them to foam board…?
If anyone can offer any low-cost suggestions, either online or in NYC, I’d be grateful. Thanks!
Easy and inexpensive to make them into canvas’s.
Buy a sheet(s) of styrofoam 4×8 ft. $7 at any home improvement store.
Cut styrofoam two inches smaller than the poster.
To make the hanger, punch two holes 1/2 inch apart 1 inch from the top in the center,
(where a hanger is on the back of a frame)
thread the ends of a twisty tie (the paper covered wire used to close bread) thru the holes, turn styrofoam over, make a loop and twist the ends together.
Lay styrofoam on top of poster, draw a bead of glue (elmers) along the edge of the styrofoam all the way around and wrap poster to the back like a present. Turn it over and weight it down til dry.
(or you can spray styrofoam with craft adhesive spray and wrap poster to the back)
