Why does the US keep buying oil from the Middle East while California refuses to drill our own oil?
The only good answer above is Dan’s.
There is oil in California and Alaska, and we can do it in a way that is safe to the environment. It may not be enough to support the nation, but it will contribute to the oil we need. Not drilling the oil we have would be like having food, but not eating it and starving because it won’t support you for a month.
