Painting Repro
Renaissance/Italy…cafe scene…James?
This is like finding a needle in a hay stack. I have no clue if this was a repro of an old painting…or a current artist… The painting is set on the street at a cafe. -I asked about it and the woman told me it’s a “James.” JAMES what? Is that a first name, a last name…it’s impossible. The day after I went back to look at it and ask again… She had packed up shop (she was only renting the space for a month or so.) I know this is crazy but take a guess. -I got nothing….but James…
Yea, that was confusing. I need an artist, apparently well known, by the name of JAMES. Someone who paints in oil and has a collection of Italian Street scenes. I have no idea who this could be. I’ve done TONS of searches for any artists with the first or last name of James. I’m not coming up with anything.
Yes, it certainly could be a woman. Help.
Maybe the woman’s name was James?
I don’t think there is a well-known painter with surname James, at least I can’t find one.
The only famous painter I can think of with first name James is Whistler – but a Whistler is a Whistler and not a James.
