Painting Surrealism
In painting or film, what do you think of surrealism?
Do you have a favorite artist.
Surrealism started in the 1920s, Some of the greats are Breton, Dali, and Man Ray. Personally, I think surreealism was the most important art movement of the 20th Century. It never caught on in literature, outside of Andre Breton, and other European poets. Just before surrealism was Dada, a total destruction of art principles. Then the surrealist like Dali returned somewhat to identifiable objects. If you ever have a chance you should see avant garde surrealism movies produced in the 1920s. Made moviemkaing into a high art form. Of course, surrealism is a off shoot of Fraud’s dream concept. Dreams reveal true inner secrets, which in waking life is muddled with uncertainity.
