Soviet Art

Why didn’t the Soviet Union keep their culture during communist rule?
I have to write an essay on this and I don’t know what I should say. I need three examples, one of which is a current event.
Here is the complete question:
During communist rule, many Eastern European countries kept their culture, religion, and art. However, the republic of the Soviet Union didn’t. Explain why this would occur.
When you talk about the republic of the soviet union are you referring to just the Russian Federated Socialist Soviet Republic or the entire eastern block?

Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (Special Edition) $5.65 Arguably the greatest black comedy ever made, Stanley Kubrick’s cold war classic is the ultimate satire of the nuclear age.
