William Blake

The poetry of William Blake and William Wordsworth?
Literature reflects political, economic and artistic movements of the era in which writers compose their work. Discuss the effect of the Industrial Revolution on the poetry of William Blake and William Wordsworth.
“London, 1802″ works on so many levels. First of all, it’s an obvious call for help; the poet, William Wordsworth, laments the state of England, and expresses his fears about the health of the national character.
Not only is the sonnet an accomplished and polished example of its form, it’s also a bold condemnation of the poet’s nation and fellow countrymen.
Published in a collection of poems called Songs of Experience in 1794, Blake wrote “The Tyger” during his more radical period. He railed against oppressive institutions like the church or the monarchy, or any and all cultural traditions – sexist, racist, or classist – which stifled imagination or passion.
